Anxiety Disorder: Where Seems to be the Problem?
from:Being anxious about something is normal, a part of man's day to day experience. He may feel anxious over a first date or feel tensed about a business presentation. But when this becomes a persistent condition then we might no longer be talking about normal anxiety, rather a chronic, delibitating and consuming fear known as anxiety disorder.
Anxiety disorder strikes randomly and without warning. No one can foresee the next attack, which makes the condition more fearful since the person is left with no other option but to worry "when would be the next attack".
The most typical symptoms of anxiety disorder will onset with heart pounding faster, dizziness, weakness and sweating. Then you might loose the feeling in your hands and the sensation of chill or flush may be felt throughout the body. You may then have nausea, unrealistic sensations, chest pains and several other conditions that will make you assume that your body is becoming uncontrollable. By then, you can make yourself believe that you are experiencing heart attack or some sort of madness. You may even feel the sensation of standing near to death.
Having said that, people who don't have episodes of anxiety disorder may therefore assume that it really is a feat to deal with the condition. The anxiety alone is enough to make someone feel like dying, what more could the sensations of death be like?
Due to the nature of irregularities that is characteristic with anxiety disorder, the person may have attacks when he is asleep and any time during the day. Each attack may last for up to 10 minutes yet many studies show that there are cases of much longer episodes.
Roughly 2 million Americans display symptoms of anxiety disorder. And among this figure, the larger half comes from women. The reason for this sort of prevalence is yet to be discovered. A number of experts suggest that women are more prone to stress and other forms of disorders therefore they are more susceptible against the development of mental disorders such as phobias and anxiety disorders.
Usually, the development of anxiety disorder commences somewhere in early adulthood. And there are studies that would support the notion that the condition might be affected with the genetic make-up of an individual.
Most patients with panic disorder often have to make consultations for a couple of times before any real diagnosis are produced. Usually, mental ailments and disorders do not have recognizable causes that's why the condition is normally left untreated.
The majority of anxiety disorder is often associated with other conditions such as panic, stress and depression. However, there is a condition for which the symptoms are exclusive only to anxiety disorder. What causes this difference is yet to be discovered by science.
Anxiety disorder is known to have considerable negative effects to one's patterns of life. Take for example the case where a patient suddenly develops anxiety attack while riding an elevator. It is possible that this would cause him to become fearful with elevators or anything that may be associated with them.
This pattern of behavior goes in the same manner with many other instances. But whatever the condition may be, the only significant truth is that all roots from fear which in itself is also a developed human characteristic.
