Psychogenic Infertility- Unexplained Infertility with Anxiety Attacks
from:Intriguingly enough, not all people diagnosed of infertility may display physical symptoms that may lead to the conception of the idea. This is termed as undiagnosed difficulty, one that cannot be explained physically by medical science. In fact, experts assert that psychological causes or what we refer to as psychogenic infertility complements the absence of any physical factors.
If you are thinking that this condition appears on a relatively small portion of patients, then it is time to make necessary considerations. Because as the latest research may suggest ten percent of American couples are suffering from this disorder.
There are cases when couples, after having tried so hard to conceive a child are still not successful enough for their initial years. However, there are still chances for them to form a family after some few years or more. On the other end of the scale, there are cases when they cannot absolutely create a child even with proper sexual intercourse without birth control.
The former is what we call as infertility. As medical science may define it, infertility is the inability to produce a child in a span of one year. Infertility or subfertility is due to a single factor or a group factors that create the possibility of discontinuing or prevention of child production.
It differs from sterility. While infertility is a condition that makes it a challenge for one to conceive a child, sterility suggests physical problems that cause the inability to conceive. This is where the impossibility of conceiving occurs.
The cause or the causes of infertility or sterility is complex. In order for us to narrow down the complexities, let us focus only on the causes of infertility.
To be able to conceive a child, the fertilization must work in the proper manner and time. This is because fertilization occurs in a very complicated fashion. For most couples who are infertile, something goes wrong in any processes involved.
As we may all be aware of, the process starts with the egg and the sperm cell. Though that may be clearly stated, the elaborate processes and the timings that go with it must be completely understood. Often, this is where the problems occur. Either the male partner or the female partner is responsible for causing the problem but usually it is the male who is the major contributing factor or may even be the real, sole problem.
While most problems may be attributed to physical dysfunctions, impairment and disorders, experts have found out that even psychological factors play their courses in infertility. This is especially true with unexplained anxiety attack that are directly link to infertility.
Stress, in recent years have been recognized to interfere with a number of specific hormones necessary for producing sperm cells. Prolonged and excessive emotional stress can primarily affect the sperm count, which is a very essential factor in conceiving a child. If your sperm count is not enough, chances are you are at great risks to inability to produce a child. However, up to this date it is not yet clear if whether stress causes infertility or it is the other way around. Additionally, infertility due to stress can also affect your relationship with your partner and even your sexual functioning.
For cases of unexplained infertility, couples are likely to search comprehensively for assistance that may cause them desirable results. But even with unexplained anxiety attacks relating to infertility, couples affected are still among the few people with highest potency to conceiving a child. In short, their pregnancy rate is high.
